Crescent Bank Certificate of Deposit FAQ
A Certificate of Deposit is a type of savings account with a guaranteed rate for a specified term. When you open a CD, you commit to keeping the money in the account until it reaches its maturity date. Generally, the farther away the maturity date, the higher your interest rate. A CD can be an effective way to help your money grow at a great rate and is not affected by downturns in the economy.
You can apply online in under 10 minutes. Be sure to have your driver’s license, state ID, or passport and Social Security number handy. If you plan to fund the CD with money from an account at another bank, you should have those routing and account numbers or online login credentials ready. You may fund your CD account by mailing us a check or by electronically transferring funds from an account at another financial institution.
During the online application process, you will have the options to fund your account by electronically transferring funds from an account at another financial institution or by mailing us a check.
You may only add funds to your CD at renewal. You will receive a notification via email prior to the maturity date of your CD, at which time you may call us at 877-831-3334 to assist with adding funds at renewal.
There are no fees to open a CD. However, certain fees apply if term conditions are not met, such as if funds are withdrawn early. This is why it is important to choose a term that matches your cash flow needs.
